Just stumbled across this, looks brilliant! www.shiply.com/It can compare your route and match it to others , and all that stuff. People can compete to get the job etc. Going somewhere? See if someone needs something shifting to help with cost. I actually thought of a similar thing a couple of years ago but didn't have the knowhow to set such a thing up.

i've used shiply for ages, and what it does is encorages you to take the cheapest price. you get a good mixture from professional hauliers to your mate with a trailer. few bangerboys and tader platers on there.
ideally only use for cars that are either cheap or for spares. if using for something worth a bit check they have insurance.
basically i only use them if its cheaper than i can do it, or my licence will be under risk towing it. I've had 5.5ton min dodge 50 been delivered on back of a shogun. a Cat B jag driven to me on trade plates!
but then had some total professionals such as polygon, where my shitter shared a dry lorry back with aston db5

the trouble with shipley is sub-contract work, and sub contractors who don't know the full facts
i had an 9-car transporter arrive in my street to pick up an engineless car (which he refused to take) after a numpty id sold it to decided to use shipley rather than pick it up himself, as he had originally arranged.
HGV driver says: does it run? me: no, it doesnt have an engine HGV driver: it says on my sheet that it runs and has mot and tax me: no, it hast had an MOT for over 5 years HGV driver: i cant take it then, it doesnt match the description on my sheet
after 20 mins on the phone with his boss, he relented, but wanted an extra 50 quid cash to move it, i told him to leave
