Hi mate the van is looking good i have been tempted to do one and use it for work but they are a bit to small for what i need, shame. whats going in the hb and what are you going to do for a speedo drive in the van ? ive used the omega box in my hb and I'm fitting a triger wheel to the prop and running electronic speedo but would rather use cable drive so if you know a way around it let me know

Can you not use a Carlton speed drive ? Externally they are the same gear box In fact I'll check for you at the weekend I have both Carlton and omega gearboxes What are you going to use for a hydrolic clutch master cylinder ? small up date tonight Because the engine was originally front wheel drive I had to tap the rear engine mount bolt holes I also cleaned up the bottom pully before After

I know what you meen the tail end of the manta box looked the same apart from a small cap in place of of the speedo drive, i popped it out but there's no drive . I'm not going to let that bother me its not a problem just another challenge ;D. Ive used a landrover master cylinder and fabricated a linkage

sorry for the short reply but i was on my i phone it was an older project that went a bit tits up because off these balancer shafts :wtf: they are right in the way off any rwd conversion any way the eco tec has something exciting inside VXR pistons from a 2008 astra vxr basically making the standard ecowreck a low compression vxr engine so out they come and i spent about 3 hours scrubbing them ffs so i put new shell bearings on them and stuck them in the block i spent most off last weekend cleaning turning my c20xe in to basically a red top vxr engine i think i have just invented a new engine code c20leh next up a multi layer steel vxr headgasket now these are not surposed to fit a red top;) and you surposed to pay 90 quid for a cosmetic one unless you drill the wee brass rivets off that hold them together and bingo cheep multilayer head gasket for a red top or red top turbo when i bought this xe it came in bits and lucky enough it came with a freshly skimmed head so a dose of new head bolts and some silver spray paint later more soon

Just a quick one,the ecowreck pistons have only 2 cutouts for the valves,xe ones have 4.If your using the xe head have you checked you wont have any problems with valve clearance? Even if you have it wont take long to machine some in anyways.

paul the valves ect were cleaned i just didnt take a pic ok so today was mostly scrubbing bits and sanding till my arms were sore so I started with the dip stick and breather tube after a night soaking it so petrol and thinner mix so a short while later and some halfords rattle cans this happened next up the oil pump it was working fine but needed a clean up so I cleaned it and stuck it on with a new gasket # then a new oil cooler sandwich plate and a nice new oil filter sanded and sprayed up the timing gear back plate forgot to take a before pic then I stuck the cams in and hydrolic lifters nice clean back plate on sanded and sprayed the rocker cover tho not very happy with the finish and how it sits now
