well as I said earlier in the week I have got my hands on a bedford ha van it was used as a recovery van for a small lisburn (northern ireland) based compainy last on the road in 1994 I was hunting ebay for months looking for a ha viva car when the vans started looking very appealling following on from the ford guys who cannot afford or simply will not pay the crazy prices asked for 2 door escorts vans an estates start to look pretty good and are a lot cheeper it was by luck that I herd about the van a guy came in to my shed and saw the 1964 ha car I bought off ryan and said he had on only it was a van went round and there it was sitting covered in hay and a few chickens running around so deposit paid and call back with a more suitable means of collecting it was my fist time driving a lorry and the air brakes are a laugh wheeled it in and had to go as it was getting late so this morning I was greeted with this site ;D so with 2 wheelie bins full off hay removed we were left with rottie007 ill see your cracked tyre and raise ya a tube so the poking a proding began when I got the seats out I found a few keys mmmmmm chassis leg thats all for now ohh and to keep ya intrested

OHHHHH a lovely van to play with.... enjoy, and as always if I can help I will, alas my help-ability is limited by parts, time, money, skill, knowledge ..... but does come with added smile.

Repair it, keep it looking a bit ratty, don't remove the livery... would be excellent. Consider yourself bookmarked, the forum has got me into HA vans and varients.

we never had those over here (the only bedfords i can remember were the Cfs Opel imported after they discontinued their "Blitz" trucks in the late 70s), but were they still available in 1982 ? Looks like a brave project, and yes, keep the livery ...

Slots, slam, repair it well enough to make it perfectly safe, not boarderline mot-able, and leave the signwriting for a pornagraphic WIN!!

There's a certain comedy element to a recovery van being recovered.
