Yes you say early XR2, but which (MK1 'kent' or MK2 'CVH'), plus some XR2's actually had a 'Ford Copy' of the WEBER.

the carb is a weber 32/34 dft, they were fitted to early mk2 xr2s, aswell as some mk3 xr3s.
pre 86 i think not sure on that tho.

... the only injury I sustained was a bumped head when I let the seatbelt of without realizing the car was upside down and that's not really the car's fault.

mayby it would be worth re making your inlet to run a single WEBER 40 DCOE would fuel it well without costing a fortune to run i bet you could pick up a single one for a good price off ebay

Hi just checking you say its not getting enough fuelling is that at idle, part throttle or full throttle. Got some info from here www.norrismotorsport.co.uk/nacvhcarburetors.htmlNow its basically saying the 34/34dmtr is better than the dft and for the dmtr for to be useable upto 140bhp the venturis need machining to 28mm so I would guess that they are around 26mm at the minute so the dft will probably have one smaller than that. Is the DFT a vacuum secondary. I am not too familar with the 1800 zetec. But I know there were two power outputs available 118bhp and 130bhp (I think) not sure what the differences are I was told a long time ago it was an ecu difference and then more recently I was told it was a camshaft difference. If you are looking on getting more power than a standard zetec I would consider binning your current carb rather than spending money on jetting it. If you want to stick with a downdraft a DGAS should be able to fuel to 140bhp without problem and you might find that the jetting is fairly close as it stands. I wouldnt bother with a single 40dcoe as they don't give any power gains over a 38DGAS and it will be more of an on sorting a manifold out to suit a side draft. hope this helps a bit

I'm not a fan of the dmtr, used em lots before but the mechanical 2nd choke on the dft is much more controlable and responsive, and the jets in the dft are bigger to!!!
my zetec was originally a 105bhp but I'm running 2L cams, 4branch and the carb so its quite a bit more now, 130 is a guess!
yeah i have considered the DGAS myt need to aquire one!!!!
