I'm intending to pick up a Smoothcut rev limiter - I know it wont stop me buzzing the engine if I lift a wheel or miss a gear - but I'd like to prevent myself over-revving (or someone else), especially if I go with the hot cam. I was wondering if anyone's had any experience with the Microdynamics range of rev limiters? Like so : www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/products/ProductDetail.asp?cls=MSPORT&pcode=LUMRDSAnyway, ta - any comments appreciated!

got one like: www.rallynuts.com/motorsport/MICRO_DYNAMICS_1937/Micro_Dynamics_Adjustable_Rev_Limiter_2489.aspon my brothers SS1, works realy well, although he has set it a little low as it tends to hit it when its still pulling..... but thats just his setting (although its not a good idea to over rev a CVH on hydrolic lifters as they start to pump) but seems to work realy well, I'm certainly impressed, and it was a ebay bargain too. If i find i need one on my project i will definatly be getting one the same... I think Racer had one on the red shuv too.

i had one, it was really good. I found it was really sensitive to the connection to the negaive side of the coil, as in, if it wasnt 110% perfect it would only just soft cut. Id still recommend it though, you cant beat a straight through exhaust and the sound of your engine banging the limiter at 7500rpm while your sideways - Bliss. It wont stop you over-revving on down changes though!
