all the usual companies just have to tell them firmly its not used as a commercial and to class it as a car.

itll have to be done on 'classic' or 'enthusiast' insurance.
ive insured various (2x mazda b2000 pickups, a commer pb, a VW split van, a caddy pickup, and probably a few others ive forgotten) all with hic, and they didnt bat an eyelid at any of them, even pre-empting what mods some would have.

Wind down the torsion bars on the front and slip in some lowering blocks on the rear. Six stud hubs with a PCD of 139.7mm (5.5") means they are the same as loads of 4x4's. You'd be able to pick up some wide rims for one quite easily. 8j or wider probably won't clear a sliding side door without modifying the sliding mechanism.

My insurance is due soon so wonder if they would do a deal if i gave em a few policys ;D

Do HIC allow you to use it for commercial use as well? Just curious as I was thinking of going older when I get a works van.
