Is anyone able, or know anyone to do a cheap flat respray somewhere in the north? I just need a beige or similar retro coloured respray on a 5 door hatch. My research is bringing up quotes of 600-700 quid. Which on a 200 quid car is not really something that tickles my fancy. I don't have any cover (or the skills) to attempt it myself. Any info or leads highly appreciated. Have some coolness. ahem........ the cheaper the better. cheers all.

I would suggest looking through here on the searches on drap paint and then finding a military paint suplier, prep can be done using scouring pads (scotch pads to the trade from a factors).
Prep with these mask it up and use a decent foam roller on a dry day with some desert beige cammo paint.
Should cost you under £100 easily. After paint is scuffed up use panel wipe to clean down and de-grease. Wipe this on then rather than letting dry (lots of people do) wipe straight back off with a seperat cloth (recomend doing small areas at a time). Ti=his prep will give you a grease free clean surface for the paint to key to. ;D

If anyone's looking for cheap but good satin paint should google Protega Containerguard. It's synthetic paint meant for painting...er...containers. It was recommended to me by some Land Rover nuts. You can get it in any RAL or BSC colour, it's very tough and it's dirt cheap - I got 5 litres for £36 and used less than half of it to do a Beetle.
