If I get hold of a used windscreen, is there any places/services that will fit this glass for me? Looking at the usual places (Autoglass etc.) they seem to only fit their own supplied glass, doesn't seem to be anywhere I can find will fit glass already supplied to them. I say this as the MYSTERY DAIHATSU PROJECT is of a weird Japan spec where they come with slightly factory tinted glass as standard. Whereas the UK windscreen glass supplied here would be for the basic model which doesn't get this. And it would look all mismatched and annoy me deep down because I'm a bit sad like that. If anyone knows any national or local-ish (I'm in West Yorkshire) places who would do it, I'd be much obliged! Ta.

Are there no local 'independent' fitters in your local lellow pages?
You'll prolly find one who'll do it as a 'saturday morning' job in return for enough cash for several pints of 'bob' and two packets of 'scratch'....

Does it have rubber seals or is it bonded? if its rubber seals, buy a few meters of pull starter cord, put the bead on the screen then fit the cord in to the outer edge of the bead. Fit the bead on the car (slot the bottom in). get in the car and pull the cord out the bead, it will pull the edge over the lip. SORTED. ;D

we have a guy who comes into the dealership from a company called premier windscreens,he fits the genuine toyota screens not ones supplied by his company
you could try you local daihatsu garage, they may be able to fit it for you in a 'fit supplied screen' sorta thing with their screen fitter

Not sure if it's seals or bonded yet as I've not yet bought it - it's a used one from a breakers yard. Any easy way to tell on a car already fitted with one (same windscreen as the car I use now) and I'll have a look? Look like rubber seals to me but it's a guess. I've dug round and found a little local company (they certainly don't advertise well!). I'm thinking would be best someone else does it because if I do it I'll end up dropping it on the drive. Will let you know how it goes and see if I can find any other places too..... had a look at Premier but it's a Scotland only place. Nice to know there's places out there who will though. Forgive me if I'm a bit thick on this matter as I've never needed to do anything with a windscreen ever. Thanks for the assistance folks.
