its about 45 cms long and 20 cms high IIRC, don't spin them over 12k rpm or they start putting out lots of hot air. whats it going on ?

If you don't know already it'll be an eaton M45. They've done a couple of different models if I remember right, with the main difference being a coating on the rotors. As people have said, it's a 1.6l 16v lump they use it on in the mini's, so something around that, or a little smaller if you want to run a bit more boost. I know they work well in old mini's and polo G40's, giving 190bhp-ish max in a polo. For working out sizing here's the efficiency graph for the eaton M45: ![](http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y148/elajf1/ct_128483.gif) The green writing's the charger RPM, and the writing on the contours is the efficiency as a percentage. The pressure ratio up the left is basicaly, the boost pressure in BAR, but starting at one as atmospheric pressure.

About this big* (click the link to see it better, image appears to have a clear background) www.capa.com.au/eaton_m45data.htm*Eatons come in both aftermarket and OEM specs though so there may be slight dimensional differences, snout length etc.

hmmmm well the motor id idealy want it on is 1043cc ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) gotta get the comp down tho... don't wanna be blowing headgaskets haha ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png)

you don't need to lower the CR, just make sure its well intercooled, or do what I'm doing and use water/meth injection. akes a curse word load of heat out of the charge air, and the meth effectively raises the octane level to 115 ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png)

not really 115, that's pure methanol!
you do have to be a bit careful with the compression ratio, I ran mine with 12.5:1 and 12psi, det ensued and pop went the gasket!
10:1 and good intercooling should see you right!

its a 50/50 mix of water and 99.99 percent pure methanol ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) mine is running 10.2:1, and running about 10 psi, if all goes well il be upping it to about 15 which i think should make for near close to 500 bhp ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png)

methanol is 140 octane, so maybe 115 is achieveable.
I would be careful of 500 bhp on stock rods ;-)

its the early 1uzfe with the beefy rods, quite a few guys running 6-700 bhp on stock bottom end. as long as i don't over rev it, keep the limit below 7.5k and i should be ok ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png) but tbh, i don't know if i will up the boost 400+ bhp is gonna be fun ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)

HMMMM, well atm the comp ratio is 9.5:1 (or at least it was new) so what theoretically would be ok boost for that? as a limit....
bearing in mind a standard g-lader /g40 will be running 10.4 psi...
Would it be worth me doing this if i was only running say 8psi as a starting point, with cooler.. and then work from there..
I still have to worry about the carb.. as they exactly easy engines to get turbo sealed carbs for... although a r5 carb might fit with a lil wiggle....

9.5 CR, on 8 psi with an intercooler and a tune would be fine IMHO if the engine is healthy
