Evening! Inspired by Stroprock's thread I decided to make my own 'gas can' BBQ. Start off with a jerry can thats been stood in your shed for a few years- Then open it and nearly blow your hand off because its pressurised! Then fill with water- Empty that, now.. FIRE TIME! Let that burn for a bit until it goes out.. (you can bang the kettle on and make yourself a cuppa in this time) Lob the handle off- Grind the welded seam all the way round until it splits- Tada! Weld handle back on - one side this time.. Muller some door hinges until they fit - FIN! (bar a grill)

I am inspired, i've got an old can like that too, it no longer holds fuel so I was wondering what to do with it
But it doesn't look finished. the grill needs to be stored inside (or maybe two grills one on either side for more cooking) there also needs to be something for the grill to sit on. but then your BBQ will not have enough depth and the coals will be too thin on the base so not a lot of heat will be generated.
hmmm more thinking i think before i cut mine up, maybe i can raise the lip so as to get a deeper BBQ but retain the lid to fit over when closed.

Cheers fellas Yup, far from finished. Just little jobs now (i'm not allowed the grill from our oven to cut up) It'll have two removable grilles, it'll be OK for coals (think about the disposable ones - less depth on them) they're cheap enough to buy, take the coals out then use on this.

Go to your local tip and score a couple of grills from a discarded stove.
Great build this, I want one now as well.
