they are super rare over here, too, haven't seen a real one yet ! Looks like they stole the gear lever from the Opel Blitz truck ;D Build to last 4 speed transmission and no luxury at all! Plastic coated seat and a big ashtray! But the car is still rather comfortable although it has 460.000 km's on it! |

Ive only ever seen one in the UK and that was around 1979/1980. I remember that it was, or looked brand new. Ive never seen one before or since. I really hope, due to its rarity, you are just going to bring it back to its original condition, i reckon it will turn more heads if you did that than if you started to modify it!  |

I really hope, due to its rarity, you are just going to bring it back to its original condition, I reckon it will turn more heads if you did that than if you started to modify it! I'm not into modified cars at all. If this car was good enough in 1979 it's god enough now. The plan is to restore it, but nothing will be changed and it will even be green again when it's painted. But for now I will just use it as is. It will give me time to get parts and save up money... |

The Rekord in the usual sedan version is still rather common although many has disappeared for the last 5 years. The caravans are rare and the vans like mine are limited to just a few...

Mine is original but very rotten. It needs inner wings, front slam panel, front valance, front wings, sills, doors, rear arches, rear quarters (inner and outer), rear valance (inner and outer), bootlid and some patches on the floor. The roof and bonnet are good though! I've got everything I need except front inner wings if you know of any Leth? The interior in mine is black vinyl not beige like yours. I still have all the rear lining in good condition if you need any patterns? Some pics:    As it is now:  |
