Yeah! I really wanted to be able to see them, or at least the dealership - you can get really close but there is a wall of barrels and sandbags blocking off the view. There is a viewing platform but when I was there tensions were high so they wouldn't let you up

Theres a similar scenario in a town called Famagusta to the east of Nicosia - which you can see with binoculars from the greek side

Wow! When (if) they ever sort out the problems in Cyprus, a trip over there with a wad of cash and a transporter would be the ultimate retro rescue mission!

There a plenty of awesome Retro motors out there on the streets - time pretty much stopped in the North when the Turks invaded, bringing financial instability with them. I saw a young chappie driving a Mk3 (I think) 'Tina GXL with living room stereo speakers on the back parcel shelf, cruising the high street in Nicosia and all the laydees were pretty much melting at the sight of his top of the range motor The boss of the Siemens shop still runs a mid seventies Audi 100 as well, and that's considered pretty damn executive It's changing fast now though as tourist money, rich middle Eastern students and expats pour into the North, so if you want to experience the seventies first hand I'd get on a plane sharpish.

Loook out ;D That's all ace, two of my favourite things in one dust covered Valhalla. Add a bed and I wouldn't want to leave, except to buy Marmite supplies maybe... What magazine is that? I must have an original copy.

The toymota's were in an early issue of 'intersection' magazine Incredibly pretentious magazine, but they do have some quality stuff from time to time... Thanks

Where has that photo of Famagusta come from? Have they opened the border up or something?!? They're from a weblog of a bloke who cycled round Cyprus - he sneaked in past the guards from the North side. I'm not sure who the fat guy is down the beach though From the South side you can't get any closer than the cafe about 2 miles away. The photos are from intersection btw - as above, a bit poncy but cool nevertheless Looks like my hosting is down this morning but it should come back up later ;D
