I was just wondering, what other mods i would need to do in order to fit an "kent cams A2" camshaft to a standard 1300 xflow? I know that i need the carb, bigger valve head and a four branch manifold, but what else do i need??
Thanks in advance for any help given!!!

Recurved distributor is always good with a lairy cam. high output coil, decent plugs and leads also good.

what type of cam is an A2. If its a fairly peaky cam you will probably need to uprate your valve springs. If its mild road, standards springs should be okay but proably worth changing if they are original anyway. Head off a GT would be a good bet if you can find one. These made 77bhp IIRC with a weber carb and tubular manifold.
Any reason for modding the 1300 and not putting a 1600 in. If you are declaring it on insurance then the prices for a 1.6 and 1.3 will be pretty similar.

A2 is quite mild so you don't need to do anything to it at all. It's an old Cosworth grind with long duration so I might be inclined to go for the BCF2 which is a higher lift but less duration, so you'll get more torque out of the engine.
The big question: WHAT'S IT GOING IN?!!!

You want to mod the engine but have it look standard?? Thats the way i did it (naughty) I just fitted a GT carb and exahust and declared those but also did a 90thou overbore, ported 1600gt head, Kent 234 cam etc. Used to fly, made for a very good engine!

I've got a very big expensive 4-into-1 exhaust manifold going for £40 if any of you guys are interested. See the for sale/wanted section.
