i saw a mint looking dark blue one of those last week down in cambridge. i don't quite know what i'd do, but it would have to involve lowering. maybe sitting on the floor, with some wide wheels and some bozo arches...

Slight drop, gunmetal grey Watanabes, Lancer 2000 Turbo engine, Bride bucket seat on driver side only, leave rest as is including the badge on the grille, rest of standard interior and the whopping huge aerial!

I'd have it lowered and on steelies ... with a rake.
Hearing aid beige is the way to go IMHO ...... I would make it "old cogder" with a twist ... if you get my meaning ... go with the current features and twist them slightly

Put a large 'taxi' sign on the roof, and a crackly, unintelligable 2-way radio inside and pimp the hell out of it carrying slappers & kebab munchers home from Ritzy's.....

What are the underpinnings a copy of?? I'm assuming it's badge engineering of some sort? Could make for some interesting engine swaps?
Oh and for my money,.. cleaned (as much as can be done), dropped on large flat faced (but good offset) polished alloys (Merc style).
Think 1980's Audi80 .. because it has the same general shape...

Based on the mk5 Cortina. Hyundai produced the mk5 under licence and needed something to replace it when production stopped in 1983 i think. So running gear is all Mk5 Tina, Mitsubishi engine. I've heard (from the only other Stellar i've met) that the Tinas 2.3 V6 fits nicely in as well as all the other Tina motors, could be interesting

Where did i see one of these the other day as a concept Ford, I'm sure its a Ford design they decided not to use on the 'tina, or sierra. get it bagged, drop suspension on adjustable, get some trick 80's J wheels, (like supra) if they'll fit on it, lose some trim and rear handles, paint grille black? Do it

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

i don't quite know what i'd do, but it would have to involve lowering. There's a surprise! ;D

If it's Cortina based in some way, stick a Ford V6 in, either 2.8 if you want an easy life, or 2.9 24V if you like playing with bloody silly bits of wire etc.
Lowered a bit (but not so as to be really obvious. Wide steels with nasty plastic hub caps, then go frighten lots of people with it!!!!!!!!!

Can't say its a vehicle which inspires me. Makes me think of unlicenced taxi cabs firstly and then Cortina donor parts second.
Whatever floats your boat really.
I think it would make a decent daily driver / economy hack but its not something I'd get into modifying. Except maybe you could shove a huge V8 in it, tubbed rear (means a Cortina project can still get that back axle LOL) keep it looking stock and that would be an excellent sleeper.

I reckon it'd make the ideal sleeper - stick something beefy under the lid (Mitsi lump? Anything really...), get some wide rubber on some steelies (4x114.x PCD I think - so plenty of wheel choice), and look into what you could do to the suspension (i.e.: slam it) Sorted. Go barry-baiting!
Are they RWD? I would assume so if they're mk5 Tina based... even better if they are !!!

Yeah they are RWD. And a 2.3 V6 from a Tina is very, very appatising Also like the idea of a Taxi sign on the roof for sheer comic value ;D
