I went somewhere amazing today.
I was on my second stag do last night, and this morning my uncles took me down to JD Classics as a surprise treat. Click here to see what they're all about.
I had no idea I'd be going so I didn't have a proper camera on me, but hopefully these amateurish cameraphone pics will do you...
First up, a selection of Jaguars. (They are Jag specialists, after all.)
I thought that one room was it. But I was very, very wrong!
We ambled across the way to another unit, and found these inside:
There was more upstairs.
We strolled down the road to get a cup of tea, passing this on the way:
Random members of the public who turn up in interesting cars are invited to park outside the showroom.
The showroom itself is full of the most pristine Jaguars you've ever seen (and a couple of Aston Martins too).
The workshop had a jawdropping selection of cars in various states of build.
The engine shop upstairs was full of Jaguar engines, with the occasional Porsche flat-six and Chevrolet V8 thrown in for good measure. The guys were very keen to tell us all about their job rebuilding classic fast-road and race engines. Fascinating stuff.
The body shop demonstrated all of the stages of the body prep process. These chaps are seriously talented.
As we were about to leave, we realised that we hadn't gone upstairs in the first building. I'm so glad we did - look what we found up there!
Pretty impressive, eh? More pics here.
Also, randomly, I discovered that a friend of the family that I've known for donkey's years has had this lovely old Rover for ages and never mentioned it to me...
