Does anyone know of a transport firm who can shift more than one car at a time? My friend Impish has just aquired a pair of late Hillman Imps off the Bay for a fairly cheap price, but is now stuck as how to recover them back to HQ... We could shackle a trailer to the back of his land rover, but that means making two 120-mile round trips in one day (at 50mph! YUK!)... just wondering if anyone has a contact / knows of anyone who can shift two at a time for a reasonable price. Cheers chaps!

There are plenty of people on ebay who can do this but probably not the cheapest. I have a phone number of a bloke up here in the North but don't think he will be much use to you. He does runs down south every week though. It was going to cost me £200 to bring a car from Kent to Durham which I didnt think was too bad for the distance involved

I know the two Imps you mean actually, the maroon ones right? I had an eye on them myself, too bad I can't afford them, and they are a little out of the road for me.
I'm racking my brains trying to think of a haulage firm who could do it for you, I know plenty of lorry drivers, but I can't think of any firms/owner drivers I personally know who have a transporter trailer and who work down south, if I think of anyone I let you know but unfortunately I don't think I can help you, sorry mate.

Theres a guy who advertises in the back of either Classiscs/Practical Classics/ Classics and Sportscar magazine( I'm not sure which but i'll check tonite) with a transit beaver tail and a car transporter says he can transport two cars at a time.

Nice links up there, just got me a quote of £196 on delivery of "The Daihatsu Project". Cheaper than I expected and insured up to 51K, sounds good to me!

All you need is someone with a beaver tail transit and a trailer

You could try Paul Ridley (www.paulridley.co.uk) - he's moved some cars for me and he's bloody good. He's based in Northampton - tell him that Tim from Weedon sent you.

Just cos something is good for you doesn't mean its good for everyone - for example Marmite does not make good Dog Food.
