Increadeeeebla! Saab did something quite similar. Sadly it simply isn't allowed anymore You can't sell using speed or 'wreckless' driving to sell cars in TV ads. For instance there was a Volvo advert a few years back where kids are drawing pics of their dads cars in school, all of the pics are the same bar this one kid who's drawn speed lines on his dads Volvo. That advert was pulled for encouraging speeding! Hence one of the reasons BMW started www.bmwmovies.com

I remember the 405 ones were good too. Sort of bond esq stuff with them being dropped out of planes and driven through burning forests.

Does anyone remember teh ace one for teh Renner 5 GT turbot where it went from 0-60 in whatever and then the rest of the 30 second slot was a shot of a basket of kittens.
banned for encouraging speeding!!! Shows how much they trust us eh. And on the one hand you've got the government banning ads like this because they think we will be unable to stop ourselves from falling under teh ad mens viscious spell and yet on the other they faff around with fag adveretising, buyng the ad industries stupid lie that ads don't encourage people to start smoking, only promote brand awarness if you already smoke
COME ON. WHICH WAY ROUND IS IT!

Those ads are bloody cool, unfortunately I agree that we now live in too much of a nanny-state in the UK for anything like that to be shown again here. Rather than admit that stopping crimes is a complex issue that requires some thought and strategy, they instead decide that we're all as impressionable as toddlers, that the reason people hurt each other is because teenagers are allowed to see Tarrantino movies or play video games, not because they feel some need to hurt each other, that way they can totally avoid getting to the route of the problem that makes people feel they need to hurt each other, there are loads of examples of this, the reason people join terrorist organisations is (according to our wise and visionary leaders) because we have basic human rights that allow people to talk about terrorism, and the freedom to move around without Big Brother watching, so naturally taking all the freedoms we have away, which if terrorist organisations target us because they resent our freedoms is just playing into their hands, is the way to stop terrorism. And here, the way to stop road traffic accidents and dangerous behaviour on the roads is to ban any depiction of driving that is vaguely fun to see or do. We're not bloody children Mr Blair, we're quite aware that doing aerobatic stunts in a car is best left to proffessionals who aren't on a public road, and we are quite aware that the best place to drive flat out is at a track day or on a piece of waste ground or an airstrip, just because we see someone doing stunts in a car does not mean we'll all instantly run out and try to drive with two wheels in the air or jump over each other! Yet another aspect of modern Britain that gets on my nerves sometimes!

hey its not blair banning flashy car ads, its bell ends like this lot: www.transport2000.orgUnelected body, answerable to no-one, patronising attitude, supposed 'green agenda' which seems to be 99.999999% speed-limit-based. These guys make me wanna chuck, check out their 'achievements' page, its like a wobbly 3rd rate CV put together by one of those people whose name is on every taskforce and project at work but who you never see lifting a fuggin finger.

A quote from transport2000's website
In 2005 we …Took on Top Gear and Jeremy Clarkson in a public campaign against the growing culture of ‘yobbish’ behaviour on the roads.
It wasent these muppets who threw a pie at Clarkson was it. I'm far from being Jeremy Clarkson's biggest fan but whoever was behind the pie chucking episode simply made their protest look frivalous and immature
