Hey all, bit bored tonight so i thought i'd post up some pics of my old 360.
It all started with a night on ebay, some friends and some intoxicants and when i woke up in the morning ebay was claiming i was the new owner of a Volvo....balls
I really didn't want the car but i'm not one to back out of an agreement so i got a friend to drive me there in his van with a trailer and picked it up for the princley sum of £122 ;D I decided that i would take my 205 off the road for a bit to make a few improvments and use the Volvo as a winter car (the heater in these things is frigging phenomanal ;D)
I promised the owner i would take care of it as he seemed to love the car and was sad to see it go, it also came with a load of spares (more on that later)
So i got it home and gave it a bit of a clean:
Now part of the reason for the low price i picked it up for was because it came with a smite of accident damage:
It did have tax and MOT though ;D
I spent a few months driving around in it but then it came time to sort out the problems that were annoying me. First it had no radio so i wired in my Mini Disc player so i could have a few tunes on while pimping it around. I also fitted an interior mirror and gave it a good service.
I made a half decent tow car as for a while the 205 had no seats in it...not to mention no tax MOT and insurance:
I then had to fix the accident damage. I got a new bootlid from a scrapyard (not a colour match) and i had to change the gearbox. The old gearbox made a horrific grinding noise when cornering but another box came with the car so i took it to Uni and put it on the ramp. The job was a nightmare as just about every bolt was seized and then rounded off when i tried to undo it I eventually got it done though and it made the car much nicer to drive.
The new box however did have an annoying ticking noise that got louder as you went faster I also had a bit of a problem during the winter trying to get to the barn where my 205 was stored:
It made it through thanks to a bit of a bodge with the intake pipe...it needed 24 hours with my dehumidifier sat inside though
Then came the big day ;D I had a trackday booked at Llandow and i had to do it in the Volvo as the 205 was still in bits. I had some new rear tyres fitted (just some budget Firestones as i was broke) and gave the car a quick going over then i was off ;D
Heres some pics from the day (check out the lean ;D ;D ;D)

Strangley the trackday seemed to make the car better The ticking noise i mentioned from the transmission had disappeared and the hint of blue spmoke from the exhaust had gone.
Sortly afterwards i found a new bootld from a Mk2 360 GLS in the same colour and then it was time to sell:
If i had the money i probably would have kept it and just had the 205 as a trackcar but i couldn't afford it at the time. In hindsight it would have been the cheaper option as i've spent a fortune on other cars since.
I suppose i would have given it a bit of a drop, stiffened up the suspension, fitted some speakers, some new front tyres....and maybe some bike bodies and a DTA ECU for a right laugh ;D ;D
So goodbye AMDy wherever you are, you were a good friend and i wish i had treated you better.....i'll also never forget the evening i spent with that girl in your backseats ;D ;D ;D
