Hello I turned 20 in feb and on the 1st may i became the proud owner of this 1999 a3 1.8t quattro and i love it but it got me thinking what other people were driving when they were 20. My mate had a 2.6 v6 audi 80 when he was 18 but now he's 20 he drives a 100hp transit so its just to see what you were driving when you were 20.

You're clearly a lot better off than I was at the age of 20 (back in 2002)...

Was a long time ago, but i had a Yamaha RD 350LC that almost stopped me reaching my 21st birthday and while i had that i owned a manual 2.8i mk2 granny, a 6 pot stacklight merc and a lowered marina pickup truck covered in spotlights, they would have been while i was 19 or 20 as i still had my first car (1600 sport mk2 escort) well past my 18th birthday and didnt do much driving for a year after my accident.

I was driving a MK3 Escort van, on a C-plate, 1.3 petrol. With a red deep pile carpet in the rear, to stop damaging my dads music gear That was in 1994. Cheers, Stu.

Mine was in 1995, and was a 1981 Mk1 Volkswagen Jetta 1.6, 4dr in beige. Went like curse word off a shovel, and I loved it!

20 years old, let me see....... I had this, it was costing me 1000 pounds ayear to insure and I loved it. I still do even though I no longer own it. Citroen CX Gti Turbo (2.5 inline 4 with T3 garret turbo) factory standard and enough to hassle M5's (on private roads) up to an indicated 135. Damn I need another one of those, its 13 years ago now. Oh and i had a bike too, this was costing me 1800 a year to insure, they don't like 20yr olds on fast bikes....

Two years ago I had my Imp and my Mondeo - still have the Imp and thankfully the Mongdeo has gone.
Not high-performance, but the Imp is good fun and the Mondeo was very practical for carting friends around. Being at Univeristy has rather limited my interesting car budget - looking forward to starting to earn some money.

Almost 12 years ago . . . which would put me in my old dear's 96P Corsa 1.4 (Hi-Torq) Premier. Was just the kit for cruising round the 3 towns of the Wyre Forest with the windows down (all 5 of them!) and the hip-hop blasting. Ah, those were the days . . . .

I was in a mk3 golf TD that cost £400.00, ran it very low. My mum owns it now albeit raised back to standard height.
