yeah me too. it was just a bit of fun though. I'm not going to say "heres my buggy vince, he likes long walks on the beach and playing badminton. his dislikes include rude people and underpants" at every opportunity
although the more i think about it, it looks kind of like a smurf. blue body, white "hat" and white "shoes". oh god what have i done!

Ah I see... People who name their cars and speak about them as if they were another person are a bit warped in my opinion! "This is Doris, my 54 plate Nissan Micra...."

they're usually the same type of people that buy all pink interior accessories (pink fuzzy steering wheel cover etc) or have tonnes of teddies in the window

I personally have never named any of my cars - but people seem to give them names for me. I think it comes as part and parcel of owning a car with character.

My cars sometimes get nicknames - the Mazda 929 was the "Doomwagon", the Volvo seems to be referred to as "The Old Man" or "Grandad". The Benz is just "the Benz"...

The Estelle was Bertha the bouncing-czech The favorit was Barry the bouncing-czech The first Saab was either Beryl or Behemoth And the Celica GT4 was Manuel. Because it wasn't a Carlos, and had a 5 speed box. The New Saab is definatley Slapper. First hint of sun and she pulls her top down.

Names and nick names, not on purpose though. and i try not to use 'she' if i can help it!!!
Fiesta mk1, 'Tufty' from reg plate Last shagged Micra, GF named it 'michael'! Sapph, is affectionately known as 'Sierra-expess' MR2 affectionately called the 'Ship wreck'
Yes cars with a bit of character deserve a bit of a title. Doris the 54 plate micra is a bit much though.

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

A few of mine have names
My friends named the yellow bug Nana (or the flying banana) and he is now known as Nito (in spanish, you put -ito on the end of a word to imply it's small, hence nana became nanito, became nito)
The econoline has always been called Mooch, mostly because mooching is the only thing you can do in it, speediness was not an option
The race car is called El Nino, for two reasons, it is both the name of a tropical weather phenomenon involving storms and nino is the word for boy in spanish, and the thing costs like any kid, so it worked
The 411 and the bike don't have names ... yet lol

"heres my buggy vince, he likes long walks on the beach and playing badminton. his dislikes include rude people and underpants" at every opportunity Normally I'd say it was beyond tragic. This ^ however is something else. A whole tranch of purely ficticious character traits is a different kettle of fish. Cool

here's a good 'un. my good lady's Mondeo is called Micheal - named long before i met her, otherwise i'd have asserted myself anyway, this week she's been to a psychic reading, it was a pretty good one with a lot of really close-to-the-bone stuff. all of a sudden this psychic says "who's micheal, and where's he going?" - she knows nobody else called that, and we've been thinking about stripping the good bits off the car and buying a lower mileage one. it's not just got a name, it's got bleedin' friends in the spirit world!

Never trust a man Who names himself Trevor. Or one day you might find He's not a real drug dealer.

anyway, this week she's been to a psychic reading, it was a pretty good one with a lot of really close-to-the-bone stuff. My first ever car was a renner 5 (1977 model) which ended up being called Hannibal for a reason long forgotten The ZS is known by the children as The Toot Toot Car (?)

Apparently I've been known as the 'tw@t in the curse word banger car' by my neighbours....
bless 'em.
Cars don't warrant names at all. They're metal, plastic and rust. Not cats.
