In fairness to Suzuki it was probably inspired by one of their own old cars, but this may have been inspired by/a rip-off of contemporary European stuff. A lot of stuff the Japanese did then was actually with the help of European and especially Italian designers, so it's no surprise to see lots of Fiat/Lancia influences.

Rip off or not I do think that looks great.

That car at the very bottom has the must rubbish headlight/grille/wing/bonnet relationship I have ever seen! Looks like it was home-built.

Quite a cheesy concept that one. The retro styled Japanese car thing has been going for some time. Some look better than others, some just look daft like mine.

A lot of people who see these Japanese retro style cars say they are ripoffs of old classic European cars etc. but to be honest a lot of the designs are based off earlier designs of their own making, for example..... the successor to my car, the Mira Gino, is frequently called a ripoff of the Mini because of the front styling, but it's actually based on the last model they did before Toyota took over, the Compagno. The very fast small car thing is very Mini-like though.
