mot day today, and i needed 2 tyres (15"). but i could take off the cossie brakes and put the old ones back. however time hadn't been kind. so now my car looks s*it(er). now spare wheels. if i get a flat I'm fubared.

Right I am guessing here but......... You have a sierra with cosworth discs and calipers so you need a 15" wheel for clearance. Your tyres are bald and cant afford new ones for the MOT so decided to revert back to original discs and calipers and more importantly road legal tyreage.
Am I close ;D
