Blimey that 133 takes me back, a customer at the garage I worked at years ago had one, same colour... never seen one since. AFAIK, they're basicaly a 126, with the 4 cylinder 850 motor in. I've heard plenty of horror stories about the later, water cooled 126 Bis... they were built in Poland. Don't think you can go far wrong with an air cooled on, tho'. Just remember that 70's Fiats + UK weather = RUST ...Any that have survived this long should be OK, tho'...

... the only injury I sustained was a bumped head when I let the seatbelt of without realizing the car was upside down and that's not really the car's fault.

Fab with comedy handling. Rust is the enemy as mech. wise they're so bloody simple it's silly. Prices are sensible too compared with the earlier 500's. later 'Bis' models are water-cooled and lose some of the fun but are prolly more reliable.

I do remember the comedy handling as stabdard on the pocket sized fiat fleet.
I thought rust might be a bit of an issue, which was why I liked the look of these two.
Is there any particular place that the rot seems to gravitate towards (a la sills, B pillar, etc on dubs)?

Amazing that you have found a 133, those are SUPER RARE not necessarily super good though. In fact there was another one on the bay a couple of weeks ago, went for about 500 notes, 27k, one lady owner etc etc etc.

You're probably right, Mattblack. I should have phrased it differently - the Bis was supposed to make the car more modern, normal & reliable.....

I'd go for the 126 Personally, they look just a little better than the 133.

The 133 has a semi-normal 850cc watercooled 4-pot engine in the back and is polo-sized, whereas the 126 is 600cc, two cylinders, and air or watercooled depending on age, and is a size and a half below the 133. Thus they are quite different motors. The 126 is more common and so easier to find bits for, that said, the 133 engine is used in other cars so as long as you don’t crash it you should not have any insurmountable problems.

Out of those two I would go for the 126 because it is on-the-road / has M.O.T whereas the 133 isn't (although that 133 is a lot rarer and IMO better looking) and will need work.

Whatever yo do don't get a 126 BIS (watercooled) get an earlyer 650cc aircooled like the one you linked. The BIS are unrelyable and also look and sound bit crappy too imo.
I had a 126 but had to scrap it as it was well past it, would love another one but id hold out for a chrome bumer version tho.

The SEAT at my place is a mega-early small-headlamp model.
