After the success of last years convoy (where we managed to get all the way from Wakefield to Sparkford without getting lost before missing the turning into the campsite ;D) I'd like to look at doing something similar this year. The route we'll be doing is M1 - A42 - M42 - M5 - then I can't remember the details post M5, but we're pretty much there at that point. Please bear in mind that we'll be in the e30 and towing escRot so no faster than 60mph and we'll be setting off from Wakefield, ideally, around 12ish on the Friday. Post up where you'd be joining us if you fancy it.

what time do you reckon to be hitting the m42 / m5 junction dave?
as us north westerners could come down the m6 and meet you lot on the m5 maybe?
towing speed sounds good too!

Almost on the road: b11 sunny breadvan, e36 tds, 325i skidcar,
nearly there: ford f250 tathauler, suzuki alto, u11 bluey
not for a while: ford pop, 32 rails,
not in this lifetime: ruby, '29 hillman

If I'm honest, I'm not sure. I guess around 3ish as a ballpark figure though. I think we should have a stop just before we get off the M1, the first services on the m5, then probably try and get there in one from there rather than stoping and starting. Let me give it some thought

I'd be interested in joining you around Nottingham area so as to not go North, then head back down unneccessarily. If there's others in the Lincoln area/Newark or whatever, we could all meet up first and join you at Nottingham.

Yeah, sounds good NB. Last year the first stop was the services beside J23a, so we'll do that again I think. Like I said, I'll give it some thought, and see who'll be up for it then we can work out the stops that'll be needed

I'll be joining you from your house Dave, might be with Wickedbad too.
I think reanimation (if hes coming) will be hooking up at Donnington.

It won't be from that house though, and Janie won't be joining us. At least thats how it is at the moment. I'll probably be leaving the escRot at home too, but we can see on that front closer to time....

As mentioned in the north east thread, there should be a few of us NE members wanting to join the main northern convoy. The more the merrier eh?

FilthyJohn -- Indeed, the more the merrier.
I'll get a map of the route and planned stops sorted out.
I should really look into getting my ticket sorted. And maybe some sort of Northern Stand for the show itself.... time is ebbing away.
I should really do something with escRot too, seeing as the only difference between last year at the show and now is less curse word in the boot and more rust. Its still got that bloody oil leak and everything....

Awesome mate, It'd be epic to have like 50 cars convoying down from the north.

Me and the Mrs would be interested in tagging along to this from Manchester.
No idea what we'll be coming down in though, Lost my contract today so van has to go back to leasing company and income is going to take a dive into negative figures for the next few months. So we'll probably be coming down in whatever ropey sub £500 transit/estate car i can find!.

Just thought I would bump this thread and find out if Dave has planned the route. As me and matt would love to join the cruise down, but need to know when you pass j31 or where your 1st stop is

Just thought i'd say me and the Mrs. are still defenitly up for this... Would be nice to do the long journey down with some other RR'rs this year! AND it's not in a Ropey £500 transit..... It's in a Ropey SUB £500 106! Winner!. We're hoping to go down on the friday, and slower motorway speeds is not a problem.. Infact its ideal considering we've no idea if it'll make it down there or decide to blow up! Just thought I would bump this thread and find out if Dave has planned the route. As me and matt would love to join the cruise down, but need to know when you pass j31 or where your 1st stop is Also, we could quite easily deviate our route slightly to pass through sheffield if you'd like the extra company. Means i get another excuse to blast through snakes pass too! ;D
