Says "original Set", not pair so no I don't think its fair You cant drive on 2 tyres so that does not constitute a set Did you tell him where to get off ;D

i'd say, unless they're for a bike a set of tyres is four in number.

Sneeky! The word is 'SET' and notice how the picture has a wheel to the side as well. I admit he does only show 2 BUT the word 'SET' should not have been used.

Clear misrepresentation. If it was two only they should have been described as a pair, not as a set.
NEG THEIR PONY ASS INTO NEXT MONTH.

Maybe it is misleading, but he surely wasn’t doing it deliberately, what would be the point of that? He would know that when the buyer came to pick up the goods theyd complain. Its not something you can ‘hide’ until its too late.

Ask if you can have them half price as the price you bid was for a SET of 4....

Set of tyres = 4
I don't think the seller was as innocent as he sounds, by saying set and meaning pair he would get more bids and he *maybe* could convince a buyer they were worth it if he came round.
If he argues show him this thread and you can see that most people would think it was 4 tyres for sale.

The picture clearly shows two, which is in the seller's favour. That said, I'd definitely say that a 'set' meant four, perhaps five.

A set of tyres for a normal car is 4 minimum. Even with his pic of only two tyres, he is trying it. If he gets arsey then, "the goods offered were not as described" should cover it.

i rekon he's a chancer. The wording deffo implies all four tyres otherise you'd say "two of the original tyres". Set certainly implies 4. The pic of two is just to cover his when the buyer rocks up. He's banking on that good old British not wanting to make a fuss. Leave em and hit the old neg button when you get home!

It's definatley misleading, whether he mean't to mislead is another question. BTW I see 3 tyres in that photograph

Yep, a set is 4 or 5 as far as I can see. Whether he was meaning to be misleading or not.... not really sure. The pic shows 3 tyres. I wouldn't want to pay over the odds for half a set of tyres . I wouldn't go so far as negging him, personally. I'd enter into one of those Mexican Stand-off situations where neither leaves any feedback....
