	For sale is my 1988 MG montego The car is registered in my name and I have the full V5, so no dodgy business. She has only had 3 previous owners! The car has an MOT until 19th November 2010 (Roughly 8 Months) and I have no reason to doubt she will pass another easily with no work at all (has only done about 2000 miles since last mot) The car comes with original handbooks and consumer guides etc The car is almost completly standard. The car comes with a very nice set of MG X Spoke Alloy wheels in very good condition with hardly any scufffing and all 4 tyres have absolutly loads of tread with the front 2 having less than 2000 miles on them. All the electrics in the car work brilliantly, the central locking is perfect on every door, the mirrors work, the heater works, the sunroof works (and doesent leak!) and the electric windows work although the passenger side is slow on the way back up. Bodywork/Exterior The condition of the bodywork on this car is incredible for a nearly 22 year old car. This is due to it being garaged almost its entire life. It is evident that the rear arches have been replaced which is not surprising because montego's are terrible for rusty rear arches. These replacement arches are still solid with only a tiny bit of rust on one of them, and a little bit on the seams where they were attached. The car as a whole is extemely solid with no major rot whatsoever, there are a few very tiny patches here and there but nothing major (see the extensive pics showing usual montego rust spots which are not rusty on this car!). Even the sills are solid (another usual rust spot) , only one of them needed a very minor bit of welding for the last mot. The boot and the roof's paint has faded a bit and needs a good t cut or respraying. There are no major deep scratches and no dents and no rust holes. There is no water leaking in from anywhere, I have gone through numerous car washes and heavy rain with no problems. Interior The interior is in good condition. The seats are all really good apart from the drivers seat which is showing signs of wear which is not surprising after 92,000 miles, the red stripe is missing from it and it has sunk down a bit, but is still comfortable. The dashboard is very nice condition with only the ashtray missing and only very slight lifting on the bit above the clocks (which is a usual montego problem). The carpets are all very good and there is no fag burns anywhere. The headlining has dropped (extremely commong on these) and has had a bit of a bodge repair, but is not too bad (see pics). Mechanical Condition The car runs very well, it does not overheat and always fires up first time even if left for a week. The engine idle is a little high but is not a problem, I believe the stepper motor / base idle just needs resetting correctly. It drives well and with the low ratio gears of this mg version is very nippy for such an old car. The engine is a little bit clicky but this is to be expected on an old vehicle. She has recently had a head overhall (see recent work section below) Also you do not have to worry about the Cambelt snapping as a new one was fitted 2 months ago and also the head gasket was also replaced (had to be done as part of the valve / head work). Service History There is only some service history which includes mot's from 97,98,99 and 2002 and also I will state below recent work which has been carried out and have receipts to prove it of course. The mileage I assure you is genuine as the person I bought the car off had been the owner for 19 years and assured me the mileage was genuine and I have no reason to doubt him.
