Been trying to find some plans to build a flow bench out of a vacuume cleaner and sticky backed plastic. Have found plenty of software www.performancetrends.com/pfa.htm but no plans yet, seems you can build a decent one for around £200-£300 with software (well, add in the £800 for the laptop if u don't have one) Anyone find and info?

Is it possible to simply bosh your hoover pipe on the port (on the manufold face of the cyl head) and use a simple DIY U-tube manometer tapped into your hoover pipe to measure the pressure drop? If you are going to port your head this would surely tell you if you are making an improvement or not, and allow you to balance the port flows. Obv it would not give you a 'litres/min' absolute value or owt like that, but it would tell you if what you were doing was working OK.
