For the last couple of weeks I've doing a 250 mile commute and using a full tank! It's running pretty rough and stalls quite often with no throttle.
I've been reading around on the Internet about it and it I'm finding it very difficult to get any decent information on it, most people just say"swap it for a weber" but I can`t really afford that right now.
It's a Pierburg 1B and from what I understand there is a pull down unit that controls the idle speed (the black, round unit behind the choke assembly) and that the diaphragm inside could be split...
This is bolted to the bulkhead with 2 vacuum lines leading in to it, what does it do?
There is a small vacuum in this line...
...that is connected to this in the filter housing...
...which I'm assuming controls the hot/cold air flap inside.
Are there any simple test procedures to test the pull down unit and the choke assembly? Any help would be greatly appreciated
