Does anyone else watch that "Pinks" on the rather tawdry Men & Motors?
I just love the 'sh*t or bust' concept of putting yer money where yer mouth is --what those crazee Yanks would call 'stepping up to the plate -- & having enough faith, skill & sheer cohonas to risk losing your wheels.
Last weeks was flippin' marvellous!! As a somewhat biased, self confessed worshipper at the Altar of the Blue Oval, I cheered the trusty Model A Rod as it smoked the ugly old General Motors GTO.

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

I must admit I didn't Toptaff, my other 'arf, was a Roy Orbison fan either! Mind you we were both shouting at the television when that little Model A blew the Goat out of the weeds!

Wow so they genuinely do race for pink slips then.
Never understood the mentality that drives someone to do that. I guess you'll alwyas get competative types but what's wrong with just building a car and enjoying it!

yeah, id rather not risk my car and have 1 good car, than risk not having a car for the opportunity to have 2 good cars, if that makes sense. you can only drive one car at a time

I have heard this show described on American forums where its been on for a while. I think the consensus is its a big fix.

I'd agree with that Mr K: still, rather see that programme than T*p G**r with yet a load more 911s or Vanquishes....

It's a fix??? ~~I've been duped?- man! I'm gutted!! re: Mr Orbison....... I've had a ghastly "earworm" tune going round in what's left of my mind for days..I hoped that the thread title would rid me of it but no!!!!---I still have Cliffs 'Summer Holiday'(young ones stylie) stuck on a loop. Kill me now!
