I pondered if anyone knew how to edit the effects on digital photos to mute the colours to a more 1970's/80's 35mm tone... they seem much prettier to look at than the harsher colours of the digital ones... I'm thinking like these scans from the family albums of long ago: Whatcha think, chaps?

It can be done by playing around with filters and saturation levels. I prefer to just shoot with an old camera and proper film

Yeah just buy some cheap old film cameras and go from there!
Kodak point and shoot type things, get them processed and scan them in.
Have a look on ebay for some, dirty cheap and you'll get the proper genuine effect rather than fake digital effect.

If you use photoshop then there are loads of vintage/retro effect scripts out there to download. Google is your friend
