Thought I might just put up a little post on my crappy little workshop/garage. It's an old Asbestos shed which was originally used to house Turkeys about 30 years ago. When I found it, it was filled to the ceiling FULL of junk which took 2 solid days and lots of money to clear out. I laid the floor myself, ran power to it and put new doors in front and back. I originally converted the shed to a workshop for my Mini, but when I had over 400 sqft to play with, more cars started to creep in!! Here it is before last weekend: As you can see I didn't get a chance to paint it before I got the cars in, so it was fairly dark, dusty and damp!! I sold my 350SE last week which took up most of the garage, which spurred me on to clear it out and do this: which led to this: The floor has had 2 coats now (not cheap) and the ceiling still needs a second coat which it will get this weekend. I need to paint the rear wall fully and get rid of that awful plastic. I'm really looking forward to having it all properly done - it has already made a huge difference to the light levels!!

Awesome Dude, So glad to see you've made some progress. Looks really cool ;D Let me know how the floor paint stands up to use/abuse - been thinking of painting the floor at the unit but can just see it getting wrecked very quickly. Sorry for not calling you back the other day - promise I will this week Nice work Dude and keep the updates coming.

Bruce, I might not be the best judge of the floor paint. I left it too long between coats and ended up using 2 different manufacturers of paint and stuff. Just used Ronseal Floor Paint for the last coat - went on nicely. I hope it's farly resiliant, has to be better than bare concrete with all the dust and stuff!! It' not cheap though, and doing A52 would probably cost about eleventy million pounds. P.S - No problemmo on the call dude!
Steve, It's great when it's done, but hard to find the time to do it! Took me 2 years and only that I had everything sitting there, I don't think I would have got it done!!
Plan is to have it all finished by this Sunday so that I can roll the Merc and Mini back in, as well as my tool box. I want to keep the clutter down as much as possible so looking for a big steel cabinet to hold a few bits and pieces!

God that's such a difference Mark, the place looks great - I told you painting the roof/Walls would make a huge difference. Are you doing anything with the back section?

Cheers Leigh. When you say Back section do you mean the other shed or the back wall? Bunker B should be turned into a fully fledged workshop/store shortly Unfortunately, funding only stretches to a cardboard floor but it should do the job. As for the back wall - it needs a little re inforcement then it's also going white!

Ah yeah, I meant bunker B! Looks so much better now dude, fair play to you , i know its a pain in the hoop having to clear all your stuff out to start painting the floor. And at least now there's another layer between you and the cancer asbestos !! That floor paint can be dear here alright - i put the grey version in the cave last year and if I remember right it was 64euro for a 5 litre tin of a named brand (cant remember which) but i got the exact same tin up home from the local hardware shop for 27 sterling!! That doesn't even nearly compute!!

I have walled Bunker B, so at least it's secure now!! Just need to get it organised! I cleared all the stuff out in one evening - it was a tough evening though!
I bought 5 litres from Aldi ages ago for about €25. That did the floor 1.2 times. I then bought 5l of Ronseal Floor paint for €40 which has done 1.8 coats so far with enough to do half of the floor again!
I am thinking that the first coat took a lot of paint due to rough concrete etc, but I must say I've been impressed by the coverage of the Ronseal so far!
