even in standard ish form the v6 imo sounded lovely esp gettin up over 5krpm. driving a mg zt v8 with decats and big noise pipes was lovely. a few years ago when i was looking at a mg zt diesel, for £8k, it didnt push the buttons and i bought a 2002 impreza wrx, pretty differant markets, but zt prices now are very good. even with the clutch problem my old 75 didnt half do the job well. alas , I'm looking for out the box thinking, some ideas on differant paint jobs, imo the 75 is a cruiser and should be taken that way, you hardly ever see them done differantly other then tryin to be a mg.

Totally underrated cars. I don't think BMW helped by cutting ties with Rover so soon after the launch. The old people image is true to a degree but exaggerated by the likes of Clarkson who seemed to be on his own mission to speed up Rover on it's path of doom.
I was seriously close to getting a ZT 190, but decided I couldn't afford the fuel bills. An owner of one took me out for a spin in his and it seemed to defy physics round the bends! Gorgeous looking cars IMO.
Anyway, I'm no good on Photoshop. My vote is two tone white 'n' blue, hard slam with some dirty banded steels or moon discs like the salt flats racer ;D

Great cars these, I have been keeping my beady eye open for a decent one. I think 2 tone is the way to go, low on steelies

Nice cars, v6 is a bit tight in the engine bay for working on, Its a nice shape, lowered with a nice set of wheels, dark colour to complement the chrome trim job done. or how about a two door coupe conversion, or even suicide doors, not easy but certainly different, Its not a 75 but I've just done it on a mgzs.

This might as well be a thread on the new BMW.
Oooh look, its got twin headlights like they used to in the 80's, and a circular badge - in blue and white.
Its not retro, its just another modern.

lol has everyone got pmt on here or what? pmsl chill out, its a thread, you don't have to read it you don't have to click to open it. new products of any type can be retro inspired. the 75 is one of them. relax. it doesnt make your car less retro. i know its modern. i know exactly what is retro. the idea was, could some retro styling work on a "neo retro" car.

Well said I am tempted to go two tone on mine, possibly a slightly darker light blue down the sides, but finding suitable wheels is a big problem being 5x100 for the ideas I've had

Supurb to drive, I used to work at a rover dealer and drove afew, all fantastic. I think they have the right mix of old styling ques to qualify for some sort of retro class. They do sort of feel like they give off a retro 'charm'.
Someone must do something radical to one!
