cossack has a tailgate that goes to bumper level & I think wrap around frt end , also niva's are monocoque Not this one. Ute-tastic! ![](http://www.4wdonline.com/Lada/PiCs37/1997ute.jpg) I think you will find the Niva utes are a half chassis at the rear only. The few made in NZ where built up near Palmerston North I believe. Tiagra I think was the name given to them. They had a longer wheel base plus rear leaf springs. Adrian

For shame. You call yourself an Australian and you don't know about the LADA Samara? ;D They even had Peter Perfect pushing it at one point. ![](http://www.championsbrockexperience.com.au/road/road_cars/88_lada/rear_pop.jpg) www.championsbrockexperience.com.au/road/88_lada_Samara.htmAlthough it has to be said this was post polarizer and at a point where the motoring industry thought he had lost his marbles. In fairness, I think it's entirely possible he had actually lost his marbles at that point. Certainly it can't be nice having Holden turn on you and kill your business just because you went a bit loopy and new age and tried something different. As an aside, I still want a polarizer. For no other reason than it strikes me as a truly bonkers piece of automotive history.
