Ok chaps, a work colleague of mine, due to a breavement, has for disposal a 1980 Chevy Impala. It's an ex Boston cop car. It has mot until October 2010, and wait for it, it's only covered 15,048 miles.
It's in black, with shiny chromy bits on it. The way he described it, it's almost rust free.
It has a switch inside which if you flick it, all the lights flash!!
It has electric windows etc. Sand coloured suede interior.
There's no pics yet I'm afraid, although I have requested some.
The £700 price tag is firm. He's not making any personal gain from this, because he's giving all the proceeds to a Cancer charity. He's also running a marathon at work for the same charity.
I have his number, so if anyone's interested, please pm me and I'll pass it on. Oh, he thinks it's a 5.0 litre V8.

I don't know if & when I'll be receiving pictures. I did see one on his mobile phone and it looks a cracker. Personally chaps, I'd take the chance and arrange a viewing. I don't think this'll be hanging around for long. The car is located at Chafford Hundred, Grays, Essex.
When I left work to come home this morning, my colleague was locked in conversation with a team manager and a traffic clerk about the car.

damn thats epic-ly cheap.... why didnt this come up 3 months ago would have this in a shot..... ive realy got a thing for the stateside stuff lately... and that coupled with my love of ex cop machines makes it even better...... and its from the age of the cop movie/ car chase... whats better than that?

I've got this sitting here now, (impulse buy!) I had to trailer it back as it was not exactly as we were led to believe, not even roadworthy. (Chinese whispers!)
Ad should have read: Black chevy sedan with no evidence of having been a cop car, some rusty bits, 115,000 / 215,000? miles, one door bottom hanging off, no working tail lights, broken wiper mechanism, tired saggy headlining stapled up with a rexel, a 4x4 tyre fitted to one corner, broken fuel gauge and seized AC pump.
Still, I half expected stuff to be wrong with it for it to be that cheap hence bringing the trailer LOL . Good project though

I've just got in from work.

Doesn't look too bad in the pic, seems to have great potential.
There were an awful lot of interested members, so if you're really not happy with it, perhaps you could offer it up again.

I would think the large amount of interested people might have been due to the wrong description I think it has been painted with a loofer. (was cream originally by the look of it) Right, who was selling that police lightbar? I'm still happy with it, its a shame it was not actually a police car at all , or low miles , or with good bodywork. (it woud suit being turned into a patrol car though dontha think?) |
