Me and Benzboy were drooling over your car at last year RTTS  I thought it was in the top 5 coolest cars at the whole shindig, and thats saying something aas there were some mighty cool motors there! Seriously, seriously cool!  Why did you get rid? Do you have any pics of it?? |

I only saw the end of the RTTS program, and wasn't watching it too closely as I was building wardrobes! I didn't see your Viscount lowrider on the show, but is yours the one on wires and in grey priner/guide coat that was in the classifieds of CC.

Yeah that was mine!! I bought it a few years back as a £300 MOT failure, usual things really - master cylinder shot, anti-roll bar bushes that had all but rotted away, cracked disc, flexi hoses, rotten rad, bald tyres, you get the picture! Fixed it up over the summer & finally got it legal in October '02. Ran it as a daily driver, took it to RTTS in 2003, in standard ratty form and took it up to Max Hydraulics in august for a set up which consisted of 2 Chrome pro hopper pumps & 6 group 31 batteries, each pump running 36 volts, the rear leaf springs were binned in favour of a four link set up - to give the car better movement - the rams were fitted to the axle using power balls, again to increase movement. It was almost 9 months before i got my car back again, which time Tax, MOT & insurance had all lapsed, May 2004 was an expensive month for me, what with getting a new exhaust made, T&T, insurance & paying the balance on the three thousand, four hundred & fifty pound job - that's right £3450 on a £300 clunker! My mate came up trumps & towed it from Worcester back to Cornwall using his Subaru 1800 powered VW wedge, i'll never know how that van managed a full on 4 wheel car trailer & a heavyweight Viscount up Haldon hill just outside Exeter!!  Anyway, got the old girl sorted & legal just in time for RTTS 2004 - which is where you guys may've seen it t'other night on Discovery channel. FFWD to August & i'm under notice of redundancy, i've already got a seriously slammed 2cv & was in the process of buying my old man's mint 2cv that he'd had for 15 years + a Monkey bike & loadsa other curse word that we all seem to accumulate, so somethin had to go. That's when i decided to flog the Viscount, i put it in CC for £1850 & sold it to the 1st guy that looked at it who happened to live in Newquay! Over the next 6 months this guy has it stripped, cleaned, welded, a new headliner, seats & door cards re-trimmed in black leather & a sweet metalflake blue respray with silver ghost flames. He did everything i wished i could've  Less than a month after selling it i got offered another job in the same company - Fookin typical innit! I love my 2cv's - so easy to slam too Found this by chance last night on our old local 2cv club site, dates from around 2002/3, i47.photobucket.com/albums/f195/500tops/car1.jpgIt was more slammed '98-2000 before i hit a manhole cover in the road and ripped a suspension tube clean off! I garaged it for two years & had a new galvanised chassis fitted along with front 1/4 floors & bulkhead, that's why it aint so low in the pic - i'd learnt a v. expensive lesson Anybody out there wanna swop a f reg AXGT with 50k on the clock, some history, new clutch, head gasket, cambellt etc for a Citroen Dyane or Acadiane with a solid Chassis get in touch!! |

That's a stunner!  I've had two slammed ones. When I wanted to lower mine everyone was saying it couldn't be done. Once you know how though, ten minutes and a pair of molegrips and it's down! ;D If only they didn't bend so easily.  |

Too right! I paid £400 for it in '97 & kept it 'til last year - really wish i hadn't sold it It was a cool snail - Citroen CX seats, GS rev counter calibrated to work with 2 cylinders, K&N filter, trim rings 8-ball shifter, AMI 8 front anti roll bar etc, binned the original drum brake box in favour of discs etc |
