Poorly Sick at the mo. The Custard has really bad fuel starvation problems so the nice Datman is sending me a carb kit to see if that resolves it.Oh Joy!  Considering chucking away the Hitachi Carb and going down the Webber route if this doesnt work.Has anyone done this mod before? |

It appears the fuel pump has expired(torn Diaphragm),so a quick click on ebay has got me a new old stock pump inc postage for £22,paid for it thursday,recieved it saturday morning,who says you cant get bits for old cars!!

YES!!!!!!!!!!! Its back,after six weeks away I have finally got my Cherry back. The problems started after the PPC day at Mallory with fuel starvation and in the end the custard has had a new(second hand) carb thanks to Datman,and a top end rebuild,(skimmed head,one new guide,valves reseated and new valve stem oil seals).So all 59HP is intact. Just hoping to get it on a tuner now and then start using it again.  |

Oh and a recon fuel pump,another set of plugs and points,dibi cap,rotor arm,condensor and coil,next on the list will be the annoying whine from the gearbox(possibly Layshaft??!?). Anyway more pics-    |

You should replace those hoses that go into the valve cover. They look real ratty and bring down the whole appearance of the engine bay, imo.

Yes I know what you mean they could do with changing,going to be doing some work on the engine bay soon so will try to get some. How loud should the whine on the gearbox get before I should be worried?Possibly just needs topping up with oil then. |

Mine always whined. It whined even more when I changed to a 5 speed, but it was never a problem.

Crackin tho aint they and so different from a mini,what size wheels are they on yours onefiftyay?
Looking for a set of Revolutions but would like to keep it on twelves and drop it slightly.

I like that a lot. Now add some to the cowl panel, cause that bright bit of custard between the hood and windscreen stands out too much! Yeah I know,the stripes were done at a local sign and graphics place(only cost £25),but the panel is to difficult for them to do(to much cutting out),so my only option is to have it sprayed by the looks of it. |

Liking the Cherry!! you seem to be making good progress with it and liking the stickers ;D
Glad it's been saved from being turned into a drag racer, it's far too good for that!
I live not that far away, so ill keep an eye out for you next time i pass that way.
So if you see someone in a yellow Punto or a mk1 Uno waving etc it'll be me!
