......is the name me and my little workshop go by
so, what do i do? well, a bit of everything to be honest. welding? yep. fabrication? yep. a heady mix of old-school 'fix-it emporium' and new school hot-rod shop. ile work on any car, any age, as long as the mods are up my street.
Here, '20s bodied traditional hotrods mix with japanese high performance drift cars, and everything in between. hell, it doesnt even have to be modified. ive been doing a near-stock resto (bolt-on mods only) on a '59 karmann cabrio beetle on a long term basis (as funds allow) for over two years now.
i posted some pics of this place about six months ago, and tbh back then it was still a bit of a mess. since then ive re-walled most of it (About 4 panels to go!) done away with all the freestanding shelving as the floor space was too precious to waste with shelving, and instead have put a lot of shelving up on the walls high up out of the way, to free up space.
ive also had a major, major clearout of both parts and cars, and sold an awful lot of my hoard of random parts. there was jsut too much stuff in here to be able to work properly!
all this space ive freed up, ive been filling with more equipment and tooling, the culmination of which will be a rather large colchester lathe arriving in a couple of weeks!!
what it used to look like can be seen here-
retrorides.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=othrmod&action=display&thread=66271
it was on its way to being a usable space, but there was so much stuff in there it was jsut impossible to keep tidy!
pics of the refitted/refurbed workshop with an awful lot more space in it will be up shortly
i plan on having some A52 style events here in the summer, more 'open days' than 'play days' though, where the barbie will come out and north essex/south suffolk R-Rers can kick back, have a beer and talk sh1t about cars.
