This has gone out between a few local members of RetroRides/Area 52 and I thought I aught to post up on here too so as to get maximum coverage.. I am running a collection in aid of getting a new impact wrench (windy gun) for Area 52 as a communal Christmas Present as our old one is getting past its best. This is separate from the contributions to your usual kitty donations on the weekends as I want to collect this now in advance so I can present the pressie at the December play weekend. PayPal seems to be the best and accepted method, so if you want to donate, all proceeds to lil_miss_naughyno1@hotmail.com and add a note that its the Christmas donation. Please note that is spelled wrong on purpose, its our Zoe's email and she apparently can't spell Thanks one and all!

Well then. I guess I should post some pictures from the last playday... Friday night. Ben's Passat undergoing a top-mount and ball-joint change. It all started out so sensibly. You may notice in this picture that Robin is drinking from a bottle of beer. This is a recurring theme... You had to be there really... Chris Politt. Writer, raconteur, Northerner, Steven Hawking impersonator par excellence. ;D It would appear at some point fairly early on the Fiday night I lost the ability to take photos. Probably round about when I fell asleep leaning against VIP's Lexus, just about after we'd finished drinking all the drinks ;D

That picture's going to haunt me isn't it The pictures I posted don't really capture the mood of Friday night that well (the one of me captures the mood at the end of Friday night very well... ;D). I haven't laughed so hard in months: I was literally on the floor at one point laughing at Politt's delivery of classic Schwarzenegger lines in the style of Steven Hawking. We drank some beers, we raised the whiskey bottle in the direction of John Donttellhimpike, we talked some curse word, we laughed like drains. It was epic fun ;D Mark (Speedy88) had brought with him a small plastic toy American police car, packed with explosives, to be blown apart in a spectacular explosion on camera and watched in amazement... Oh well, blow torch on a stick did the job... ;D Yeah, fight the power, flip the police, etc... Saturday dawned, a beautiful day: Casting its light on the aftermath: Ben's car eventually returned back to Earth: Bruce: down with the kids. ;D

Hey guys. Anyone getting down on Friday for this play weekend? If so what kinda time will people be down?
P.s I'm a moron. I thought the play weekend was this weekend whereas it's actually 9-11 Dec. I'm such an idiot.

That "bobber" is epic. I'd say "good work guys" but, it just looks like all you did was get bladdered and pee about on games console. I also peed about on a bike ;D You may spot my latest 'ride' a Norco 250 jump bike sneaking into a few of the pictures, which I picked up while I was back in the south-west, so spent some time fiddling with and riding around on. I quite liked Dans quote on first seeing it: "No offence, but you payed £200 for that? it looks like something you'd find in a skip." I've got to say it was a very enjoyable weekend. Starting with a hideous drive up from Taunton in torrential rain, where I was glad to be in a fairly big stable Passat, I think I'd have had to pull over if I'd have still had the MX-5! Everyone else has covered the events pretty well, so I'll just apologise for leaving my camera in my car, and my car round the corner all weekend, which combined with a broken phone camera, resulted in a rather large lack of pictures from me. I'm hoping to be in attendance next weekend, but it will depend on my work load with uni, although it's after most of the due dates, so should be good to go. I'll be down Friday afternoon until late Saturday night due to work on Sunday, but hopefully from here on in I'll be able to attend for full weekends, as I wont be working next semester.

Woaah....just seen you have a diesel rocco. Which lump is it you have in there? I was toying with the idea of dropping a PD TDi lump in mine.

My boss is having this wee beastie delivered on Saturday, so I will be assisting with the unloading of that (it has to squeeze into a barn full of tat through a gap not much bigger than it). The Marina is now running again, like poo but running nonetheless, so all being well on that front I'll pop along on Sunday and get to meet you all at last...

I'm afraid "Ahm oot!" for the December Playday, the Lex has just cost best part of a grand to be MOTd, serviced and taxed, so funds are a little on the low side.
I will be at the Post Xmas Getaway though!
