Hang on to it fella - I personally would prefer to have it sorted, spanking and braodcasting the V to the doubters........ As if most (if any) of 'em have the skills to bring ANYTHING up to the finishes you achieve.
As a daily/hauler you won't get any cooler mate.

and I know I should'nt - BUT How in the world can anyone see that ^^ - the work and finish on Marks Cortina(s) he's done - the chevette still running around - the Polo etc.. etc... and say he'll stuff anything up? I'm all for patina - but there's a line..... That^^ doesn't say - 'How cool am I' etc... etc... It says - 'Hello officer - yup, shoddy wreck and see how many points you can get me for' ........ (unfortunately true)

Whats it all kicking off about? Surely no-one can begrudge a car a paint job, have i understood that right?

Mark, it's your car to do whatever you want with it. You were only going to paint it, not banger race it fer Christ's sake - hang on, there's an idea...

Just looked through this thread. I can see one negative post regarding it being painted. All others are being knowingly sarcastic in a light hearted manner as far as I can tell.

I only saw one negative aswell but I got the feeling from it, that stuff had maybe been said elsewhere? I don't know but its out of order telling folk what to do with their own car, espescially to the point that someone gets hacked off enough to jack it in!

Apologies - I don't usually 'kick off' but am truelly astounded anyone would see the Vic as is and think any of Marks efforts on it would have an adverse effect.... Sorry again Mark - but I really think you should give this the treatment...
I'll butt out.

Me thinks that regardless of any comments said by anyone, Mark is the owner in the end and he can do whatever he wants with it..........BUT seeing the quality of the work the man can produce should mean that if left in his possesion you would KNOW that only good things would ever happen to it..........so pllleeeeaaasssseeee keep it! This motor is very nice, and with your added touch Mark it would look amazing. Ignore the h8ters fella.

Mark you wrote I bought it because it deserves saving and not being left to slowly dissolve and turn into even more of a pile of curse word .as it is at the moment it is literally one step away from being a rusting pile of scrap but with a little care and some very much needed repairs it can be retrieved . So get er in there n get at it ;D 99% want to see it done rite so don't be swayed by the B-u-l-l-s-h-i-t-e-r-s she'll be class when you get'er done

Let's see which hero steps up with a grand in their hand to "rescue" it from being painted. I'd definitely banger it on general principle - but I'd paint it first.

may have somebody interested in the FB and they are not rat look fans they may be getting it done in a dark and shiny colour and it's certainly straight enough to pull that look off with just 2 small dents in the rear arches and 2 even smaller car park dings in the doors we shall have to see what happens at the weekend

Great looking car and I look forward to seeing what is done withit by whomever works on it. I've copped a little hell about every car I've owned ("You can't put a subaru motor in a Kombi" "Can't roof chop a morris minor, its still not a hotrod" "not made in america its not a cool car" "4 cylinder, not cool" "the Simca and Piazza are too rare, you can't customise them"...) If the car excites you, build it how you want, if not, do as you are and sell it on. As long as you don't get stuck begrudging the car one way or another

I'm gutted to see you selling it so soon, especially as I can't afford to buy it off you, lol. Keep up the good work, it is appreciated by most of us on here.

Well, I'm surprised. Presumably all those people telling you not to paint it are queueing up with a grand of readies in their hands? Hmm... thought not.
To be honest Nightmares, I'd be tempted to keep it and give it the deepest, shiniest bloody paintjob ever, just to pi$$ the haters off. ;D
