*Now has a full deep sided cloth GTi interior, inc leather gearknob lol
*Supension has been raised to save me killing another sump
*Another oil and filter change!
*Fitted a working (original volkswagen) flip out double cup holder
*I cleaned out the interior (first for me!)
*bought a regulator for the passanger window but not fitted it
*still driving it lots (averaging 50 miles a day)
*mudflaps are worn down a fair bit from scrapage!!!!
Ok I've only had this car a short while (bought in early December) and it has proved to be awesome... so awesome in fact that I want to buy a new one!
Model: VW Golf 1.9TDi
Year: 2000
Transmission: Manual
Mileage: 215K
Tax: 11 months
MOT: 6 months
Location: N.London/Colchester
Price: £2200
This is my first FWD car and although I have driven other peoples this is by far the best I've ever driven. The same goes for the fact its a diesel! It is so quick off the mark, turbo spools up nice and quick and boosts well all through the rev range. This is a 90BHP model (AGR engine) but feels like a lot more!
I have put 2k on it in 7 weeks and it really is superb, hence why I've decided that I want a brand new one!
Additional Information:
Just had a full service which includes:
Cambelt
All tensioners
Water pump
Accessory belt
diesel lines
diesel filter
fully synthetic oil
oil filter
air filter
vacuum hoses
New items:
Windscreen
rear lights
genuine fitted deep pile mats
LED interior lights (sounds chavvy but really is quite subtle and smart)
Few bulbs hear and there
Front top mounts
Genuine sump
Drivers side window regulator
Points of Interest:
- Lowered on new coilies
- Matching tires all round
- Central locking (full closure as standard)
- Leccy windows (as above)
- Leccy mirrors (and heated/tinted)
- Engine uses no oil at all and engine/underside is spotless
- No smoke, not even on startup
- Very very good condition 16" GTi Wheels
- working air conditioning
- power steering
- polished rocker cover (engine is spotless, not a drip from anything)
- intercooler model
- car will go lower on the front (still has about 2" of drop left)
- full GTi interior
Bad points:
-few little marks around car as expected from car parks etc.
-front bumper is shabby but have ordered a replaced which I'm waiting on
-mileage is high but runs like clockwork, and pretty quick off the mark
-passanger side front window regulator needs replacing (repair kit £15 on ebay)
to be fair if you are anal about a small scuff on a bumper then this may not be the car for you but if you want a car that is a solid reliable car that you can cart you (and family) about then this is for you. Remember, 50mpg driven hard, 60+mpg driven sensibly or on a run.
