So we've done different pricing structures at all our events, trying to hit on the perfect one, and we're still experimenting.
We were wondering which way you prefer to pay. Obviously if you are bringing a load of people per car is nice, but there are a lot of folk that come just by themselves.
Most UK shows seem to do the pricing per person, so how do you guys feel about this. Have you come across any other interesting ways of paying for an event?

A hybrid? Or is that overcomplicated? For example £10 for car & driver + £2 per passenger? (figures plucked outta the air obviously)
I hope to have a choice of cars on the road by then so may bring 2 anyway ;D

if its per person then it would need to be cheaper i think. Looking at Classic Ford show, its £14 each, for 1 day and £7 each for camping, for 1 night. camping prices should be per tent IMO.
although i have no experience of overall costs of these things but that is my preference. The pricing last year was spot on for me.

whichever way is cool, i think my only bugbear is about paying for camping at some shows coz i generally get too sloshed and kip in the car!!, per person is prob gonna get more cash in the kitty though

I'm voting for per car fr entry, i've seen people hiding in boots to get into shows that charge per person, I'm not worried if the price goes up a bit.
i think camping should be per pitch, not sure how you'd measure a pitch, but we're gonna have a camper and a fairly large tent, so seems unfair to charge someone in a small tent the same as us.

just wondering if charging per car may make some people not bring their cars?
"i'll share a ride, its cheaper that way"
And although the show is about the people and the cars, without cars there is no show!
(personally not bothered, will hopefully be going this year whatever!!)

to me, per person seems more logical than per car, means everyone is paying their equal share to the event.

Personally I think it should be per person. In my opinion people that drive alone and show their cars are contributing more to the show than those that travel with someone else, but it would in effect cost them more than others sharing costs per car.
On the other hand though if it were per car it may encourage those that normally come alone to bring some mates along to spread the cost, thus introducing more people to Retro Rides.
Dunno, per person still seems right to me.

I quite liked the novelty of the "per car" charging idea, but I don't mind either way. Per-car was good for me last year as I hitched a ride with Nathan. To be honest, when I've factored in fuel / food / beer, the cost of entry and camping is only a small part of it, whichever system is used. I vote for whatever charging system is best for the finances of the show.

I vote for whatever charging system is best for the finances of the show. Cool, so we'll stick with our £40 per person, plus £20 a night camping, plus £50 per car idea then! ;D

I would imagine per car is easier to govern. Poss per pitch camping to help cover costs. I voted for per car but don't really mind. If it's similar or even just above last year it'll still be good value

....and a car sticker thrown in to show who's paid and we can take it away and say 'we were there' / advertise for next years show. (like glastonbury)
