Ok, have been digging around the net looking at water enjection - especially DIY kits and i came across this: www.dawesdevices.com/howto.htmldoes anyone have any experiance of water injection? So, if i plumb it all in, in putting before my blower, using a windscreen washed pump ect ect will it be effected by the fact i am using a suck through system and the? how vital is it to get the correct nozzel size? Why the ethnol / methnol 50:50 water mix? why not pure water? am i crazy and barking up the wrong tree? hope someone can help, or atleast point out where I'm wrong! - the reason for asking about this is that i cant run a intercooler (suck through setup) yet don't want to have to retard ignition too much, risk damage, blah blah blah. CR500dom? blownimp? someone must be able to help. www.dawesdevices.com/water.html

theres an aquamist system on tashas racecar ... which has never been used! lol blow through is the way to go! i seem to remember that you have the 50% alcohol mix as this ups the octane of the fuel. You only really need one for hight boost levels though, what boost are you running?

Hi.
I run an Aquamist system on my modded Saab Turbo, and in answer to your questions;
1) Using a windscreen washer pump will not work well at all, it just doesn't make enough pressure.
2) The nozzle size is very important, you need to create a real fine mist of a spray, if you use too big a nozzle you'll get water droplets and end up having a seized engine! think I use 0.4mm.
3) Using the ethanol/methanol mix will help bring down temp's further.
Anyway, the pump and nozzle are very important!!
Cheers, Jaty.

Sorry just stared new job, working away and only just got back online As keefy says, not worth it for 7-8psi don't go chasing boost with a supercharger You are better off running the charger to produce all the flow needed at very low boost. Boost just shows up a restriction in the system, creating it is just wasting energy Washer pump is not sufficient pressure or flow to atomise properly. They work well for spraying on an Intercooler though Methanol absorbs water, it also raises the knock resistance slightly, and most importantly when it vapourises in contact with the hot air the Evaporation cools the charge still further. Not needed or worth doing if you do the job properly in the first place ;D HTH Dom

yep sorry agree with that about not worth it if only running 7-8 psi.
I run max'm 1.3 bar, and the water injection kicks in at just over 1 bar.
