kyteler Just popped down to local Nissan dealer (it's lunchtime here ) in my break and those part numbers are still recognisable format for the parts inventory, but... ...due to them never ever having been sold (officially) on UK spec cars they are having to do a special enquiry. Fair play to them though, they could have just said "not bothered or to much hassle etc." but like I've said before the parts people at this multi-franchise are very keen and willing to have a try. So should have results tomorrow

Any news yet on the Toyota mirrors?
Surely there must be a way for us to buy JDM salvage stuff? With all the grey import stuff we have nowadays isn't there someone out there importing used parts etc? I know there have always been people supplying engines, but now there must be healthy requirement for panels etc.

Tried those sort of places. ...don't get much joy, all they seem interested in is 'Barryboy import stuff' thats under 12 year old, i.e. "What sort of 90's mr2 mk2 Turbo is it off?" !!! When you start mentioning the 70's it goes quiet

*** UPDATE *** UPDATE *** UPDATE *** UPDATE ***Appologies for resurecting an old thread but thought some might be interested... Further to my original 'want'... If anyone is ever interested in doing a bit of 'JDM' Japan 'look' to there 'old-skool' Toyota (and some other J-Tin and ...and basically other vehicles that were sold in Japan in 1970's) These : New Original Toyota Japan Spec. Fender Mounted Side View Mirrors For Celica, Corolla and Corona. [ The mirrors are the Genuine Toyota and are chromed plastic Silver colour and chrome. These are spring loaded to protect against damage. In other words If they get bumped the mirrors will flex instead of snapping off the fender. Mounts with two screws per mirror, comes with a base plate that goes on the inside of the fender. ] And as shown/fitted as an example here: Are still available from ANY Toyota Dealer in the world! Providing the part numbers as followed are quoted. Part numbers ARE: 87910-14070 Fender Mirror, Sports Type, RH87940-14070 Fender Mirror, Sports Type, LHCost is about £85 British pounds (inc.V.A.T) for THE PAIR (£42.50 approx each), from genuine Toyota dealers! Which is actually cheaper than the 'specialists' that were selling them.(incidently places like Japparts and Fensport said part numbers no longer exist!!!? ... oh dear! ...this time a case of main dealers do know more ) They are only available in 'Gun metal/metalic grey colour' (as shown in top picture) and NO longer in Mid Grey or black/darker colours as fitted to: But are still same shape/design/construction. NOTE: Some countries/states will describe them as 'door mirrors', not a concern it's only a 'mistaken' description on UK Toyota spareS database as 'fender' is not a word used in Britain (so to speak ) So with regards to the 'Quest of Toyota Fender mirrors' JOB DONE. I know in the past some of us have 'rediculed/complained' about main dealers (myself included ) but the following dealership were amazingly helpful: Toyota Franchise: W.A Lewis of Telford,Shropshire. They went to a lot of time and trouble to find out exactly the part number correspondance (and if correct) and what item is and for locating availablitiy. I've praised these guys before and as main dealers go they do seem genuinely interested in older vehciles . As a bit of useless info: despite being a 'JDM' part they are all stored in Belgium ...so parts only take a week to arrive Got some for friend and Job done
