If you went round last year, or if you just spectated, what did you think of the track action.
Officially the whole thing is un-timed, and we're not really allowed to use the lights (Haynes could get into some serious trouble if anyone complained that the track looked like it was being used for competative motorsport).
As a driver did you find the track enjoyable, did you get enough of a run out on it? As a sepctator did you see enough of the cars, was it interesting and exciting enough?
Anything you would change?

It was done perfectly. I couldn't really think of a way it could be improved tbh.
Here's a video of the course for those who didn't go / can't remember:

yeah i really enjoyed it, decent amount of track time for the money. i'd like it to stay the same and if Haynes are ok with us using the timing lights again then great. also we can compare with last year if we are in the same car, like me

Id just like to point out to those wanting to go round opposite way to last year, that there is a nasty lip as you come out of the hairpin, going opposite way round could creat quite potential 'air' as you go into it and I could see a few cars getting stuffed into the banking... if ya get me..
..or am I being unreasonably concerned?

As a spectator it was brilliant. Great to see cars going round I'd seen during the day drawing my attention to some I'd overlooked. Great to see, hear and smell them (!) and whilst for me the times were not important I did find myself studying them once I got back home...which was fascinating! Plus I wanna have go this year!

Nope, I came out of the that tight downhill left hander in a Caterham a few years back and ended up almost on the spectator ridge on the top of the banking! From a spectator POV the high banking or the side of the show field are both great to watch from, the end of the straight by the tight RH corner was a good spot for the late brakers, but we got moved on by the staff, if this area could be made safer you could get some great shots here, it would only need a spectator barrier set further behind the armco to be safe, the closest anyone got was the Sierra that locked up and slid into the tyres and that was in no danger of getting out, the speeds aren't fast enough. This was shortly before I got moved on

As a spectator I have no complaints about the track. Small enough to see all of it, complex enough to have plenty going on. My fellow RR-ers did a fine job of entertaining us and I look forward to it next year.
I do have one minor issue though. I couldn't help noticing a distinct lack of dancing girls throughout the whole event and I feel the Management should address this.

I thought from a spectators perspective it was great as you could see the whole track all the way round. Was great to see the diner truck having a bit of a play ;D I want to do it this time, because I was a bit last minute I was unsure of the regs, I had a brand new helmet at home but everything else reqquired on me. A bit gutting but I still fully enjoyed my day at haynes. As Mid72 mentioned it was also great to see some overlooked cars on parade, so you can look, hear and smell what they are like instead of a static display - not that theres nowt wrong with that

The track last year was great, I don't think you should change a thing. Now that i've solved the starting issue that plagued me last year, i'll be back on the track this year. p.s. Does anyone know of any video footage of the 'vette.? Attachments:

I loved it how it was. Unfortunately, I can't make it this year as my wife will be approx 9 months pregnant and I don't want to risk being 100+ miles away when she starts labour. Of course, she could come along, and have the first RR born baby!?

I was dissapointed with the track but that was only because i wasn't using it ;D My 205 was at home and the engine was at Uni. I'd love it if the track was on again this year as i really want to have a go at it in the 205

As a spectator I fort it was spot on,good as it is to see the cars on display its even better to see them flying around the track.I would love to have a go this year in me FTO, not very retro I know but my Austin A30 is a long way off from being finished.

I too think the setup last year was about perfect for all involved. A good amount of track time, a good tight track so you can get a least a feel for what your car can do without traveling so fast that its sketchy. I'll be doing it again this year, hopefully, if theres enough track time, with both cars

I agree with everyone else, it was spot on. Not stuffy and formal and I want to have a go this year as it looked like everyone was enjoying themselves.

I think the only issue you might have in relation to the track is managing demand - it was pretty busy last year and it seems that more people want a go this year. How about having a Saturday afternoon session to allow more people a go?
