Model: Toyota Corolla 1.3 liftback
Year: 1989

Price: £400
Alright. I have gone to university again so I have no money to run a car.
Bought this from Alv (who is on this forum) last November, it served me well for a year with absolutely no problems. Little 1.3 with 5-speed is economical, pretty comfortable, with the rear seats down you can fit four bikes in there. It has central locking and the original radio-casette (I will include an MP3 input adapter thing as well as an iPod/mp3 player holder), everything else is manual (windy windows, no power steering).
Bad points are:
Fag burn on interior (otherwise mint)
Few dents, scratches etc
One of the nearside rear suspension arm bushes is knocking a bit when you go over a curb or a big bump - MOT man didn't even put it down as an advisory though, so it's not urgent
Rear hatch struts are weak, but the car includes a handily sized piece of skirting board
Work I've done on it:
Touch of welding at the back of the sills, sills pumped full of waxoyl.
Inner arches cleaned and painted all round
Paint touchups on tiny little patches on front arches, noticeable if you're looking for it
After the MOT I also fitted new rear wheel cylinders and brake pipes as the ones were looking a little old (MOT man didn't say anything though, just thought I'd do them while I was changing the shoes)
For the MOT it needed:
New rear shoes, and rear seatbelt fraying (I just removed the rear seat and passed with an advisory 'no rear seats fitted'). No other advisories.
Please note that it's been sitting on my parents' drive since October. I drove it around (sneakily) just before christmas and it was fine, it stops and goes and the engine was smooth, however, please remember that this car gets started rarely so it might be a bit smoky or rough, the tyres might need pumping up etc.
I have no insurance so it'll need a cover note to tax. If you wanna buy it, I don't mind waiting a few days to get your insurance in order.
And if you're cool, you could do this to it:
Any questions, please PM me or phone 07948 84 24 90
Price is a firm £400. To be honest, I don't need to sell the car and I'm quite attached to it, as it's the only car I've had that hasn't broken down. Inspections welcome, but I'm at university in Coventry and the car is with my parents in Tiptree, so don't expect a guided tour (and my mum is a bit weird).
As some of you may know, I'm doing a degree in vehicle design and the money from the car will go towards a graphics tablet. So if you truly love cars then you'll buy it, knowing that the money will go towards good car design in the future
