I thought Top gear always drop a huuuge b*****. In fact for the past 10 years or more the program has (in my opinion) been total b******s.

Agreed, TG is nothing more than a Jeremy Clarkson ego extension. Its there so that Mondeo owners can toss off over the latest supercar and feel like their a real petrolhead. Yeah right. The programme is so innacurate so often and they don't care its just about spinning a good yarn. I never watch it now.

Because he was fat and talentless...and now on Men & Motors. Boom-tish! *n Apparently the real reason that guy went was because people like BMW didn't like the fact that their cars were being reviewed by an over weight, middle aged, middle class type. They wanted someone more youthful, thus Hammond. You can insert your own comments about the previous person being closer to their actual demographic.... or maybe I just did that....

Its pretty lousy is old TG. I watched an episode of it at Christmas and it made me feel slightly dirty and ashamed, that I would watch such a puerile programme in front of my family.
Still watched it like....!

Still watched it like....! ;D I know how you feel! I feel sort of compelled to watch it, as there are so few motoring shows on TV; If Top Gear got dropped through a lack of ratings, there'd be nothing. Trouble is, I sit and watch it along with my mates who also think it's curse word, pushing the ratings up and thereby making the BBC think it's exactly the show we want. Catch-22....

I suppose if you class it as ‘entertainment’ its OK actually, it must have pretty wide appeal. I suppose you don’t have to be particularly interested in cars to enjoy it. My granny likes it! But if you’re hoping to absorb any new/interesting information from it, you’ll be disappointed.
Bring back William Woolard I say! Always will have an image of him in my brain, standing with one foot on the front bumper of a Renault 9, demonstrating some feature or other of its carburettor (an example of which he had in his hand).

For the benefit of younger 'viewers'... William Woolard"With his alarmingly swooping hairstyle and raffish taste in anoraks, Woollard enthralled audiences with his unique ability to walk towards the camera whilst talking and waving his hands about a bit. Sometimes he would even rest one foot on a car bumper giving him the appearance of a particularly learned C&A model. Little wonder that producers credited Woollard for attracting a new female audience to the Top Gear fold."

Yep bring back woolard (and the goffy chap), at least when it was done then it told you FACTS and none of that silly 'Hedgehog eyes' view/silly camera angles of the vehicles.

Hmmm.
The format of TG is (and has always been) a 'magazine' show.
Right now, it's a very glossy magazine, filled with good humour and some stunning camera work. I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing, raises the bar for other shows to attain. Some of the car-related stuff on M&M is so terminally dreary in it's style it makes me wanna switch off my tv set & do something less boring instead*, even though I may be actually interested in the content.
*did anyone one else instantly turn the telly off the second 'why don't you?' came on??
