I've read that the 55 Chevy in American Graffiti is the same car that was later used in Vanishing Point.
I loved the cheesiness of Corvette Summer, called The Hot One here which had Mark Hammill building and then chasing a horrible Corvette. Some cool lowriders in it - 73 Rivieras.
Hot Rods to Hell is great - a family is terrorised by hoodlums in hot rods as they drive across state. Good stuff!
California Kid has Martin Sheen preening his 34 Ford hot rod.
There's a film that has long sequences with a guy trying to race over a dangerous hill in a 63-66 Corvette with a stopwatch strapped to the rear view mirror. Anybody know it? Know I'm thinking it may be California Kid but I alwasy thought it was called Dead Man's Curve.
There's also a good one in which a girl is saving to buy a Ferrari (Dino I think) by stealing cars and selling them.
Dazed and Confused is the 90s American Graffiti about the last day of school and the characters that are graduating. There's a great Chevelle in it.
I've always loved Driver, Dirty Mary Crazy Larry (although I watched it again recently and it is awful!), Two Lane Blacktop, Vanishing Point.
Anybody know any car focused Euro films? Somone mentioned that Manta film recently. I bought a German film that looks like a rip off of the Fast and the Furious called Dead Racer? Speed Race? somthing like that. I haven't watched it yet.
And Initial D is currently my favourite car film. I love HK cinema anyway.
