...All the ones that were 'crusty-old-snotters-with-one-wheel-in-the-scrappy' when I sold them, and are now 'highly-sought-after-classic-cars'.... Oh well, you live and learn (or don't, in my case...) ;D

|
... the only injury I sustained was a bumped head when I let the seatbelt of without realizing the car was upside down and that's not really the car's fault.

Only car I really regret getting rid off was my AE86. Chassis was rotten and I had nowhere at the time I could keep it to work on it. So engine and box went into my brother in laws avenger. Bought the car for £800 in 1995 it was worth pretty much zero in 2000. don't even like to look what they are going for now.

Don't regret watching my MK 1 fiesta getting crushed, b**stard thing
1979 1275GT, restoration project that sat in my mums garage until her partner put preassure on her to get it shifted so I scrapped it to make her life easier. Spineless cnut couldn't say it to my face and still won't mention it in my presence

Having said that the 'filler' was probably in there from new. Remember years ago a mate breaking up an Escort Mk2 and he showed me filler that was in roof and car had never been in a bang .

Not rumoured, I know a case of it happening! In our town in the 80's a Toyota main dealer had a car damaged coming off the transporter and it was in daylight and most people saw it happen. 2 weeks later same car was on the forecourt!

Yup, when i came to tackle the rust on the rear arches of the Orion i found them filled with filler. Seemed to be the orginal paint and its never been in a prang. Backed up storied i'd heard from a friend of Dad's, who had worked as a Fiat/Alfa dealer saying that cars used to be left waiting outside of factories before paint was applied and so were attacked with filler if any major damage was done.

I really wish I still had my Fastback, and was really gutted to sell it, but I needed the money to fund the Ghia at the time. Plus the whole four car thing and lack of space wasn't really working out. Also really wished I'd never let the Polo go. It wasn't getting used and seemed a shame to have it sitting in the garage doing nothing. Cheapest car I've ever bought by far, yet never missed a beat and was an absolute legend.

Several cars I haven't got photos of, but most recently, not a car but an Engine.... Now I have the Cavalier but I sold the engine from a rotten Manta GTE before I got it, 2 litre Turbo intercooled... Around 150 Bhp...

Mr Bo11ox, its a Turbo Technics setup, has the full standard GTE injection system with an extra injector in the inlet to fuel it on boost, pistons machined down to lower comp ratio etc, cost about a grand several years ago. Had Cosworth intercooler in the nose and water cooled Turbo..
