Oohh! Bad luck! It looks great by the way! Ive never seen a picture of it. So what's wrong with the rear tyres, not enough tread or something? Hope you can get it to pass soon.

The tread is fine, but apparently they're so old that the sidewall is perished on the inside edges...not good. Prcing new ones up today. |

Ah, I see. Well that's a fair point. A blow-out can be pretty dangerous, and I suppose you'd be better splashing out on two new tyres than losing control of the car because of a tyre blowout and wrecking the whole car.
