Appologies if this should be in the eBay thread but as its transatlantic base means its more for inspiration than anyone likely to buy I thought I'd shove it in its own thread. Am I right? V8 Chevy and a 6 speed manual. its on eBay in the US of A right here

epicly good, I'm trying to resist the urge to go and ebay and plan a build....
Did we get a 2 door saloon??

Nice. Bet it sounds rather lovely ;D I'm sure I've seen this look somewhere before on a 240: The spoiler is the same and the lights, although totally different, follow the same idea (although Ben is working to make the whole job a lot neater.....) The spoiler on Bens has now been removed and all the lights are being mounted more flush like the RH one.

I think the lights look ok, certainly no worse than the monster volvo ones and they add interest, not keen on the spoiler and i reckon something needs doing to shrink the bumpers, i quite like the chunky wheels and rubber and the fact that its got enough ground clearnace to be usueable in a hooligan fashion. first boxy Volvo i've liked for ages i think.

Volvo back as my main squeeze, more boost and some interior goodies on the way.

the 2-door is much better proportioned than the 4-door (IMO)
but, overall, i like the look

I don't believe we got the 242 in the UK.. Bruce, I was thinking exactly the same thing when I saw that! This car is going in my inspiration pile The bumpers can sort of be shrunken.. They are mounted a fair way out from the body and are easy to move inwards. The thick black rubber trim is also a doddle to remove leaving some awesome looking aluminium bumpers

We've got 242 GTs in Australia, which proves that they were made in RHD, so I can't imagine that they didn't sell them in the UK. Interesting cars, and quite rare. I've always thought they were a bit silly, being that you lose the practicality of the 4-door, and yet don't gain the looks of a coupe! Unless you look twice it's easy to miss the difference. V8-powered Volvos are very cool though. If I was going to build one, it would look like this, except with the stock grille and light surrounds: This is pretty nice too:

the early 244 tail lights would suit that better IMO. and a little drop (but not too much) the bumpers will probably be on rams for parking protection, these can be tweaked to bring the bumpers in. If they are rigid mounted its even easier. I wonder if the slimmer 144 series bumpers would fit easily?

It's awesome, BUT the wheel, tail lights and spoiler do nothing for it. But until I build my own V8 Volvo I can't really critisies!

The 262 was a Bertone coupe'd job. It has a roof chop, different rear roof line, its not "just" a 2 door saloon like this is.
